WHAT JWs WON'T TELL YOU

Jehovah's Witnesses have recently visited our neighborhood. They are usually friendly and polite, but there are several important things they won't tell you. Some of these things they have been trained not to tell you, at least not right away. Others they can't tell you because their leadership has misled them. My wife and I should know -- we were raised as Jehovah's Witnesses and were unaware of their deception and control over our lives until recently.

JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES WON'T TELL YOU:

-That they don't accept salvation by faith (alone) in Jesus, even though they claim to be Christian. They believe salvation comes through doing the works the Watchtower Society wants them to do. They reject the deity of Jesus, claiming he is just a created being and glorified angel.

-That they believe only members of their church are approved by God; all other people are wicked and will not be saved.

-That their organization has predicted the end of the world many times throughout their history: 1914, 1918, 1925, 1940s, and 1975. "Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming...'The time is near.' Do not follow them." (Luke 21:8 NIV)

-That if you join their religion, you will not be allowed to question anything they say, or you will be disfellowshipped (excommunicated). Once you are, your friends and family cannot eat meals or even talk with you, under pain of the same penalty. They teach that a disfellowshipped person will be destroyed forever by God.

-That they are at your door to convert you and/or to take donations to finance their worldwide printing corporation.

We can't give our names as all of our relatives are JWs, and grandparents are involved. We wish to spare our neighbors of the emotional pain that this group can bring. Call the toll-free help-line if you would like to receive a free information packet with more details.
